First confirmed case of Influenza A (H1N1-2009) in Singapore
Singapore has confirmed its first case of Influenza A (H1N1-2009). The patient is currently being treated at the Communicable Disease Centre at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) and is in stable condition.
The patient is a 22 year-old Singaporean female who was in New York from May 14- 24. She arrived back in Singapore from New York on SQ25 (Seated at Row 55) on 26 May at 06.30hrs. She began to develop a cough while onboard. She passed the thermal scanner uneventfully as she did not have fever then. Later in the morning, she consulted a GP who decided to send her to TTSH via a 993 ambulance, given her travel history. She was immediately admitted for testing. Laboratory confirmation of her infection was made by midnight of 26 May.
The patient has been vigilant in monitoring her own condition and had sought immediate medical attention once she realized that she was unwell. Her attending GP, through his quick response in activating the 993 ambulance for the patient, had also helped to minimize the spread of infection from this case.
We have initiated contact tracing of her close contacts. They will be quarantined and provided with antiviral prophylaxis. Passengers who had travelled in the same flight and were seated in rows 52 to 58 are urged to call the hotline at 1800- 333 9999 to enable us to check on their health condition.
Enhanced vigilance
The Ministry has reminded all medical practitioners and healthcare institutions to continue to be vigilant to suspect cases. We will continue with temperature screening for passengers entering Singapore at all checkpoints (land, sea and air). All passengers passing through or entering Singapore are given Health Alert Notices on board their flights, advising them to monitor their own health if they have been to affected areas and to seek medical attention immediately if they are not well.
Advice from MOH
Singaporeans are reminded to maintain high standards of personal hygiene. This means covering your nose and mouth with a tissue when you sneeze or cough, and washing your hand frequently with soap and water, especially after contact with respiratory secretions (e.g., after sneezing and coughing). We also need the cooperation of everyone to be socially responsible. This means staying home and avoiding crowded places (including trains, buses, offices), putting on a surgical mask and seeing a doctor if you have flu symptoms. MOH advises those who travelled to affected areas to closely monitor their health and seek treatment as soon as possible should they develop symptoms.
Members of the public are advised to exercise caution over travel to affected areas. In the event that travel is unavoidable, the public is advised to take precautionary measures such as avoiding crowded areas and maintaining high standards of personal hygiene at all times. However, iff you are unwell with fever and cough but have no travel history to affected areas, please see a doctor and stay at home.

Back from playing soccer and basketball ! my muscles all so tight after not playing any sports in a week ! and now im having muscles aches. so holy , lol .

i had two oral examination yesterday and today ! yesterday chinese today english . hope i do well man . yesterday after oral examination went home , bathed den meet xavier go admiralty eat and activate his ez-link card. after that went back to school , had night study . understand ss quite abit through eugene and mrs tan's worksheet. went home after night study .

Today , woke up ,had geography , MT , and 3 study periods. did some of my homework . after that go MT oral , den stayed back study again . i want to do well for prelim 1 !! maybe im gonna study tirelessly for these weekend . played soccer just now , quite fun .

Attended the Adam khoo workshop 'Im Gifted So Are You ! ' On monday-Wednesday.

Its a fantastic workshop people ! attend it if you've the chance !
firstly , i would like to thank the school for allowing us to participate in the workshop and even paid part of it for us! 105dollars for each student and we paid 40dollars through edusave.
its ALOT okay! go and multiply it , but its worth it.
my trainer is : DANNY , TRINA , and BENJAMIN ONG ( we called him bj/bong)
during the workshop , we were trained on many things . how to speed read , ways of studying better. its cool . the trainers would start off by introducing themselves and talked about their childhood memories . Danny and Benjamin are interesting peoples who had great childhood memories.Trina had a disease or whatever you call it, 2 parts of her spine had problems . the trainers showed us a few movies(about 30 minutes or smth) eg. man of honour and blah blah , videos nick vuujick , paul potts who had low self-esteem and
overcome-ed it.throughout the workshop , we cried , we laugh , we learn .
and i learned this ! your mind controls over your body , the law of attraction , Never give up , choices have consequences , we must have the belief first , then we set goals . goals is something pretty important .
Danny told us this , we are champions and winners among the 20 million of sperms! we are the only sperm who fought hard with the resilience , never give up attitude and emerge as a winner. before telling us that , we were asked to say out what problems is stopping us from studying like parents nagging at home all day long , communication problems with parents, games ! after telling us about the sperm thingy , we had emotional session . thats when we cried . he told us parents nag as they love us ,therefore they bother to even nag at us .
On the last day , we had the closing ceremony . we had to invites our parents which alot of us didn't because of some reasons. Danny again , told the parents how we students felt and when parents should nag and praise their child. and when he asked , who want to come out and speak , quite a number of students went up , crying while speaking and some inviting their parents out. the moment where they shared their problems and said sorry or thank you many of us burst out into tears again .
OVERALL , ITS FARNTARTIC !

AND TODAY! SEC 3s , SEC 4s , and class 5-1 had 2.4km run. i had a position of 29 , didnt do really well , first time i run untill so tired. however the timings were not told yet but will be in our classrooms by don't know when.

school on friday was fun ! slacked for 3 periods and the extra chinese lessons was interesting.
after that wait untill 3.30 or smth had interclass soccer between 4-6 and 4-1 . cool . the ending score was 3-2 . my class won !!! had fun that day , went home after that . bathed den went to pool with friends. while going home on the mrt , my friends went crazy and played with their phone's cam like w/e. lol . went to eat supper at mac and guess what . saw sabrina ! lol , its been years since i ever chat or even met her and she's still as friendly as ever ! haha. how i adore childhood .

Omfg ,These few weeks are TERRIBLE man!

Its 3.39AM now! i just reached home from causeway point and bathed.Went out at night 7++ meet 8 at causeway with benjamin,reagan,phelix,and eugene! after meeting we went to buy tickets for movies. Buy le ticket than we went to 883 for lan? crap. very long never go le. haha.

School was fine today ,slacking only. had assembly den went back to class for english.
these are the lessons i had in school today! assembly , english , mt , home period , recess ,MATHS , then AM which i went for self study. finished up my maths homework during the self study period. after school went to helped out in the B'division basketball northzone. video cam-ed for my school,WRSS-Northview. my school won. then video cam-ed for yckss and northland.its was a close match, yckss won by 1 point. lol after the two matches mr lim treat us eat! Weixiang,me and kiansiang! but kiansiang dont wanna eat lol den he watch us eat. haha,after eating mr lim's wife went to fetch mr lim and mr ong send wx ,ks and me back to school den we went back home! how boring manzxzxz!

Today was a tiring day, i slept at 4++ i guess? thanks to my brother,trying to disturb me whole night only till 4+! luckily i managed to wake up on time for school! hehe..school was sort of boring.Mrs kok is 1 of my class tcher! how cool! she had addressed 4/6 and 4/7 today and she even said that We can call her mama and my form teacher mr ravin in UNCLE RAVIN and mdm you in AUNTIE YOU. LOL! crap. She even said she got something for 4/6 and 4/7, smth edible. hmm.. hope its not MARS the choco again. lol. After school we had training,wasn't a pleasant one.Team 1 got scolded for not doing what we did in china and team 2 got scolded for not treating the training seriously.Coach says that team 2 still got chances, i believe in what he says! our BAOHUI also from team 2 one. now first 12 liao leh! lol! CONGRATS! haha.train hard!

People! dont be late for tomorrow's school! there's a changed in reporting time just for THIS WEEK! 7.15! ciao,people!

Woooo! Its Finally done! i spend 3 days trying to figure out how to do a blog!
Made the 1st one and find it abit plain.== den the 2nd one.
Still find it abit plain.this is the 3rd one. LOL. crap.
